Oldie but goodie

There seems to be quite a few people in here looking to join a startup.
We're a mature aerospace impact startup (in Switzerland) pre launch for a new platform to engage and empower passangers in order to accelerate sustainability in aviation. Our product website is www.adaption.me and company website is www.optimaero .ai.
If you're interested in joining us, and you think you have skills that suit our business, you could drop me a speculative application by email at hello@OptimAero.ai.

It’s no longer about you. It’s about them,
Inspire, motivate and help them do their best work and it will make you look good and get you promoted with more money and prestige - which is what we all want.
The best and most successful managers are those that inspire large teams to do their best work. That’s now the job.
95% of managers don’t understand this. Trust me on that one.
Now I get it. Many thanks!
Lead by example.
Stick up for your team.
Roll up your sleeves and jump in when necessary.
Your job is to make their job easier. So that means removing roadblocks. Getting the resources they need and when the brief is a cut and paste affair, call out the strategy team on it. When you give feedback make it actionable and clear. Don’t change work so you get your thumbprint on it. Change work to improve it. Or better yet, give the team good feedback so they can get there themselves. Lastly you will succeed only if your team succeeds so don’t be a jerk. Ever.
I always set up 1 on 1s with my direct reports (only 15-20mins twice a month, very informal) to connect on whatever they want to discuss, give feedback/tips, talk about weekend plans… just help gave a safe space for them to vent or bring up things they may not feel comfortable asking in a team meeting!
I had a CD who doled out compliments only once in a blue moon. Hyper critical, very nitpicky about tiny things. Also when he was stressed he’d take it out on the entire team. Don’t be like him. You can be demanding when it comes to results and hard work, but you NEVER have to be an asshole to your team. On the other hand feel free to be an asshole to people outside your team in the interest of protecting yours. Be a good mama bear and your peeps will appreciate it.
