I was tempted to post this on LinkedIn but I do not want the unwanted attention. But this definitely cringe. So this a portion of an email from a recruiter from contract consulting firm. Hey should I post this on Linkedin for Giggles and Kicks? #Linkedin Cringe #EmailCringe

- Experience working with Business and IT stakeholders

We have identified guidelines for any submissions.

1. Omit candidates who have not fulfilled previous contracts either at the individuals or companies’ discretion.

2. Omit candidates who a have a history of consecutive six-month to less than a year contracts.

***If they have anything shorter than 6m-1 year, please ask about why? *Ensure they fulfilled and the rest of the contracts are 1+ year in length!

3. Limit coaching on institution specific vocabulary.

4. Must have a five-year track record of success in project and or program management. Should need limited training.

5. Willing to participate in 3 to 4 interviews (1/2 or 1 hour in duration).

Additional notes from our call

Enthusiastic project managers, been doing PM for at least 4-5 yrs. Not looking for 20 yr veteran. Need Heads Down PMS

Other red flag, candidates who were former directors. Likely, they are trying to get back to that but have not found a permanent role.

Certifications - PMI/PMP. Not required but gold standards.

Exp structured PMO. - helps them a lot, and cert helps a lot.

Looking for well-rounded candidates. Ready to come in. HEADS DOWN PM.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

Biggest cringe for me has got to be when people include “ex-<company name>” in their title… see it for loads of the big 4 firms and I’m thinking wow you must love slave drivers that underappreciate you 🤣

There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".

Does anyone think it’s a good idea to beg for a job and put your personal life out there to get sympathy, because that is what I am seeing every day on LinkedIn and then the recruiters and everybody will comment and send the jobs and they will end up with a job or interview the next day.
I’m getting close to the point of doing that because it seems like it is working.
