Always ask for time to review and assess, discuss with family etc
I agree, soemtimes they try to pressure you to make a decision on the spot but it's always better to let it marinate
1. Take time to review, ask around more and then have a solid number. I would actually share counters you (may or may not) have and ask to match those numbers. Usually they’ll find a place to meet you.
2. Started as L4 in HQ2 at 88k, 18k start and 9k Y2 bonus. I’d assume L5 start should be 20-30% higher base.
Yes, that’s your TC. They’ll remind you of benefits (healthcare is pretty decent, holidays suck).
Keep in mind your bonuses go away after Y1 and/or Y2 - so I negotiated for a higher base. FWIW I’m an outside hire L5, base $130K, Y1 bonus $33K, Y2 bonus $25K, 30 RSUs.
Ask what the pay band is for the role/function. Also worth asking if you would be considered at the next level if you think you’re worth it and can back it up with data.

His book is great too.
Negotiate but review before you make a final decision. It's good to get the most you can from the call.
