I work for a small company. I report to the CEO'S right-hand man. He is extremely difficult, with limited experience in my areas of expertise. When I push back, he is extremely insulting, lying that all leadership has an issue with me, telling me I communicate poorly and the best one, I am emotional which he doesn't say to his male managers. I feel like I have no recourse because he will just say he never said these things. Any advice?

Sometimes management is waiting for a nudge to take action. There are times I suspect something is going on with one of my managers but i have no proof. Go over his head and report it to his supervisor. At this point do you even care if they fire you?

Do you ever get face time with the CEO? I’d want their feedback on how they believe the team is doing and if they have any feedback for you personally? If the CEO doesn’t have any negatives to address them you’re good and just do your job the best you know how and don’t let CEOs minion push you around. They can be sh**ty to you all they want but if the job is getting done well and they’re not spreading any negativity about you then … you’re kinda good to just keep on keeping on, right? I mean… lots of people will probably try to tell you to get outta there but there’s crappy people everywhere … if you can’t learn to work with them you’ll just end up job hopping in avoidance. Sucks you have to work directly with this person but … if you know your job and are confident in that then you got this!

Get out. Unless that person leaves there is not really a strategy that ends in your favor. Smile and nod a lot while looking for an exit op and get out as soon as you can.

If you are managing diverse talent, it’s important to understand what the term “privilege” means within a DE&I context so you can lead your team to higher levels of inclusivity+develop optimal strategies for solutioning around team issues/challenges. Everyone has some aspect of privilege depending upon the context. Privilege means the absence of obstacles/barriers, not necessarily the presence of perks. So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. My job application status says shortlisted in Mindtree Portal after 3 round of technical interviews. The recruiter told me he will send an invite for the HR round (10-15 days back) But i am yet to receive any information from them.

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful.
