Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Increase from 80 to 90 put me right at 12.5%
That’s sounds fair considering 5 years experience is the average for promotion to manager. You’re just at the lower end of the band cause of the early promotion. You’ll eventually level out.
AM1 I thought that too. But we did act as managers and perform as other managers as well. Partners have the same requirement for us as for other managers, these are the things I can’t get over with.
Be at least $90k plus bonus. Then I know other regular promoted managers got $90k to start. So was I underpaid? Or overpaid as a senior but acting as a manager, which is still underpaid, right? I cannot reconcile, but I feel underpaid for sure. This year’s evaluation and raise is approaching, what is a good offer for me to stay?
12% bump this year would be worth sticking around
Same thing happened to me at larger firm. Think that's part of early promotion you still don't have as much experience. I just looked at it as I still got nice raise that I was happy with and that over time I'll catch up.
I feel like you’re not going to be able to go back in time and change anything, so you should try and let it go. If you feel like your current compensation is not fair (2nd year manager making 1st year manager money), you could for sure try to find a different job or negotiate for more. If you stay, maybe you should wait patiently and bring this up the next time salary discussions come around, and request more than what they offer you because you’ll be a well seasoned manager at that point. It’s a balancing act. If you feel you’re really getting screwed over, leave for industry.
