I am ready for a VP position. I have been a director for six years, obtained my MBA, have become certified in Organizational Leadership from a very reputable institution and built two stellar departments in my field of healthcare. How do I make this jump? I am not being considered for VP jobs outside my org based on “scope and scale” and this position is not available at my current hospital. I’m ready to make this jump. Any advice on how to position myself? Advice much appreciated.

I’m really struggling to figure out how much salary I can ask for. I was hired into this position as an office manager/bookkeeper (in the Toronto area) 2 years ago, when the company was making less than $2mil in revenue and had a negative net profit (through a series of unfortunate missteps, not because the company isn’t able to be profitable). In 2 years (acting more as a financial controller than an OM/B) we’re now a $7.5mil company, with a net profit of about 15%. (Continued in comments)

Had the first round with a McKinsey Alumnus and recruiter wants to chat now on the phone. Didn’t mention any good/bad news but that they just wanted to chat to go over feedback. Based on my experience I take that it is bad news for the decision round, correct?

Will actions ever speak louder than words in this industry? I've been passed over for promos/jobs bc I'm not outspoken and extroverted but my work product is always described as exceeds expectations.
