I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?

In my experience (could be city dependent) corporate/industry hasn’t caught up to the Covid bumps at big 4, I’d have to take a pay cut to leave
You could probably lateral in at same rate but have way better WLB and depending on the company may provide just as good of a learning experience as BIG4.
I spent 2 years at EY, left at (72k) and exited into Corporate at 120k. I have had steady moves since and now am at 145,000 base + 20k+ bonus and I’m in a promotion year.
If you are In a really good company (Fortune 250 Energy, Tech, Banking) you can kill it in corporate and climb fast too! Don’t let people on these threads talk you out of the jump!
I’m less than 5 years into career btw. One more thing about Corporate is some companies push for you to try new roles and gain some professional development opportunities (Learn different skillsets). I was able to go from Big 4 Audit to Treasury where I did Project Finance/Interest Rate Hedging with a lot more exposure than Audit. Now I’m an Infrastructure Developer for the same company.
I got 240k from my 150k move as manager 3 to private equity vice president - hope this helps!
