What are first steps to building a real estate portfolio? I want to have at least 50% of my income be passive by the time I’m 30. I’m 24yo now, have saved up some, don’t have student loans or any debt. I have two brothers who is helping with college though and really need to be creative. Hi all. I just received an offer for $130k and will be eligible for about 29,000 shares of stock options. The vesting schedule is 1 year and then quarterly thereafter.

Can someone explain what this means? I “will be eligible”. So, I have to buy the shares? Should I be asking at what price?

Anyone felt this way when you first got your own place? I keep thinking I could save 1K per month more if I just stick to roommates..

Just want to know if 70% is enough for a single man who does not pay rent. Or am I saving less money?

How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.

Currently owning a house worth 1 Crore INR where I’ll be closing my home loan by this August. Please suggest diversified options of Investment for my retirement. I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Can someone explain the LTA policy? What happens if I don't claim any travel bills? Can I claim it as a taxable component monthly?

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent

Expecting an offer this week or early next week, but want to know when you start negotiating the salary? When you receive the call from the company or wait until receiving the formal offer letter? And how should the negotiation start? Through phone calls or emails? Didn’t use recruiter for this position, so I don’t know what is the process here.
