Unlikely you will get any merit increase past top of your current band, but remember, you can at some point be promoted to SM or Director, where the bands are higher, so there is hope.
In my case, I came to PwC as experienced Director but was paid far above the Director band. I never received a raise for the 4 years I was there. However, I was Tier 1 rated three of the four years and they were able to give me relatively large (20%ish) bonuses to make up for it.
In the end, remember all the official guidance is just the starting point. If you bring something valuable to the firm, EVERYTHING is negotiable.
(Note I was forced to come to PwC as my former company sold us off to PwC as part of an outsourcing contract, so my situation was somewhat atypical)
Thanks
Any pay rise is likely to be minimal
I was at the top of my band and got an “amazing” 2.7% increase

2% a year tops, if that.

Depends on a number of things. However, If you do get promoted, your raise probably will not be super big. At EY, would be like 14% or so.

You’re getting terrible advice. Our salaries are on a cohort system. You’ll get promoted and you’ll get noticeable salary bumps whenever you move up.
Thank you S1 for your advice. Very helpful
You should ask the recruiter this question and also when you could be considered for promotion.
Thanks for the advice
