If you aren’t performing well, when they let you, are you “let go” or fired? I was under the impression that fired meant that there was something unethical going on. But letgo could be based on performance/current climate

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

We use Deloitte India for a number of parts of our delivery. Recently I have seen some unethical practices that violate labor laws and do not align with Deloitte principles. Do you take the current economy into consideration when receiving job offers?
