I would be very hesitant about continuing the process if they didn’t disclose it. It’s normally a sign that they are paying under market rate and candidates will leave once they know the salary isn’t at par.

It’s like with undercover cops, as long as you ask they have to tell you
My recruiter back in June told me what the range was for my position freely.. I didn’t even ask. I’m glad he did though lol I asked for $10k more and got it
The bands are so wide it won’t help.
Do your research and ask what is worth your time. Be prepared to walk away.
They have to tell you in NYC but not many other places besides like CO. Do your due diligence and figure out what the fair market value is for you there and in general and fight for that. If you are looking at a role for example that has a range of $150-300k figure out what the bonus % target is like if it is 50% then you can get a max base of $200k and by using sites like Levels.fyi and Glassdoor and here you can kinda figure it out

It was so refreshing when I was recruiting for McKinsey as an experienced hire when the recruiter was just like “the salary for this position is $X” with an implied “take it or leave it” after that. (It was a 30% raise on where I was at previously before bonus, so I obviously took it)

In some states they have to tell you the range for specific positions. That does not have to be the same as the salary band.
