If it’s for my own knowledge, I’d say I make 100k (since bonuses aren’t promised)
If it’s for an interview, I’d say I make 125k with 10% on top of that-which often pays out around 7-9%
FYI it’s now illegal in NY for potential employers to ask you what your current salary is, so you can talk about what you would like to be making in that next interview instead of negotiating an increase on your current salary.
What is this “bonus” you speak of? Never heard of such a thing...
^ yep
Just a heads up on lying about what you currently make... Ive done it too. But it can also get you into trouble.
Some companies will need to do a current employment check. And if you haven’t resigned yet (and therefore don’t want your employer called) they can do that check by seeing your tax return or your last couple pay stubs. That is not illegal to ask for.
Anyway - on your original question. You make $100K. You get a bonus on top of that
Everybody bumps up their salary during the interview process. Pretty sure they anticipate a 10-15% bump.
For tax purposes consider that you are likely taxed pretty heavily on your bonus. I think you can file separately for such things.
lol bonus
Nobody checks salaries in advertising to the degree where they will know you lied about your salary Not that I’ve seen at least.
Illegal to ask your salary now. Say what you feel your worth regardless of the 100-110. For example if you have worked at agency a while you may be worth much more as companies don’t always give raises due to freezes etc
