I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.
In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.
I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

Right at that mark; largely rent and savings. But have of room to do or get things spontaneously without budgeting in advance.
Probably shy of 20% including retirement? To be clear not complaining about cash flow; it feels enormous.

Yeah I asked before I signed it, no penalty. I was down there last in November and met multiple ppl who had been laid off in tech and were there bc their severance would last for years and were just flying up for interviews, the overnight red-eye is perfect, you could get a call at 4pm and go that evening to the airport and land JFK at 6am. Quite honestly, I might just stay there, if I lost my job just retire, there or Thailand
That’s basically my salary level …
Gross $15k a month
Taxes - $4675/mo
401k - $1915/mo (maxed)
Health insurance - $5/month
Commute - $60/mo
Rent & Utils - $4490/mo
Cash savings - $1000/mo
Food - $1000/mo
Rest is fun spending ($1,800ish a month).

PM1, look into when that rent stabilization period ends. My apt was rent stabilized but the tax abatement period concluded for my building and, in turn, my rent skyrocketed to market. 😭 Enjoy the ride bc your unit must be amazing if that’s your stabilized rate!
see my budget here. make a 150 base. bonus not included. Auto-saved is just money sent to a brokerage automatically each month. Left over is what i send manually.
depends how much data you use, i was surprised that i barely used any. i was paying the classic 60/month for verizon for a while
that being said, their international data is a huge rip off. so make sure to get a roaming plan while on vacation

The only thing missing from the comments thus far is the terrible student loan payments a lot of ppl have monthly..

Nice to meet you, ED1. Now you know someone 🤝
I save about 4k a month and max 401k contributions. Boring but safe.
I’m really aggressive with certain categories and I share all the bills with partner. No chance as a solo person tbh. But for example groceries are $250 per month pp. Internet is $20 a month pp and we rotate streaming services. I vacation mostly using credit card points through churning bonuses. Basically any deal possible I am on it. It’s kind of my hobby tbh
Make 235 plus 30 bonus. Bonus is basically guaranteed.
3k rent and utilities
Max back door Roth IRA, 401k, hsa
2.5k student loans
1k food/going out
0.5-1k miscellaneous
Rest brokerage/hysa
That’s my base.
Rent: $2400 (live with significant other)
Food: $300
Utilities + internet: $250
Subscriptions: $50
Transportation: $100
Miscellaneous (going out, etc.): ~$900
$4k total monthly spend. Then the other ~$6k goes to paying down my student loans and moving toward financial freedom
It only includes typical monthly expenses. One off big ticket items like big trips just reduce the amount that goes into student loans for the month. I try not to do that too often, but I’m not too uptight about it either. The $900 miscellaneous covers smaller things like new clothes, sporting events, drinks/dinners, etc.
And I’m blessed with 20/20 for now, so no vision expenses 😎 I also haven’t had any big medical expenses. I mostly just do annual physicals and standard dental cleanings
