I am a self learned ux designer and working independently for my clients. Even though clients are happy with my work i feel they don't understand design much and i always feel there is a gap in my learning as there is no one to critique my work in design perspective. Have any beginner designer faced this? How do you learn when you are not working with experienced Designers?

Hi marketing people. So my wife graduated in 2017 with a marketing degree, but we got married and had kids straight away and she never worked in the field other than an internship during college. Now she’s thinking about joining the workforce and not sure where to begin. Any advice now that she’s 5 years out of school and missed the college grad to entry level marketing positions pipeline? Is it a good idea to go into SaaS pm role just for the sake of breaking into product management? Seems like b2c/consumer product management is the more popular one and is harder to get into from SaaS than the other way around. I thought I really wanted to be a chemical engineer but the reality of the day to day has been disappointing to say the least… is this a common sentiment for a first job? Do I just have to keep going to get somewhere interesting?

I’m interviewing with another firm next week. Has anyone made a switch like that before? How did you do it? I work in a small criminal firm now. Interview is with a same size/practice area firm.

Never been in an SE or consulting or B2B sales role before but have a referral at Salesforce and have been in some informal conversations. I’m starting to freak out a bit now that maybe I can’t do it. I have a tech background so can handle that part, but perhaps strategy may be difficult. Anyone make the transition to an SE role that have some advice?

Has anyone moved from FDD to Strategy? I have an offer for FDD but long term goal is to break into strategy. Don’t want to have to get an MBA unless it’s firm sponsored…and FDD is easier to get in compared to Strategy

Where do you keep your non-library original components in Figma? Do you put them to the side outside of a working frame, within its own “Components” page (like Sketch does for Symbols), or do you keep the original directly inside of one of your layouts?
