A friend of mine in my practice mentioned that he was going to enlist in the military if he gets let go. From his point of view, he can’t afford an MBA (including the opportunity cost of taking off 2 years of work), and if he enlisted for special forces, and didn’t make it and served out the rest of his contract as an officer or enlisted, he’d still be able to get paid and benefit from military hiring/affirmative action for vets when the economy is back in full swing (1/2)
