I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Probably time to leave
I had an interview today and the person interviewing me kept referring to the company I was interviewing with as the company that was acquired. They even told me, “we’re not part of the recent acquisition”. Raised a lot of questions
100%.
At one point in my career, our company was growing through acquisitions. I inherited either the acquisition's engineering team or their technology (i.e., we did not retain the engineering team).
First order of business was to transition the new team into our SDLC processes and to install our tooling. During that time, if a team member fought the changes, especially without offering an improved solution that could be applied to all teams, I would put them on a short list.
That level of enhanced attention wasn't to determine how talented the engineer might be, it was to determine if they were toxic to the environment.
More than likely you have not been silent about your opinions, and very likely you are seen as "poisoning the well".
It's a fast track to unemployment.
