So I recently accepted a 12 month contract-hire position at a much larger company. Pay is more than 50% of my salary, and benefits/401k is covered by the recruiting agency. I was confident in my now manager, who told me directly this will become a permanent role. However, i’m nervous about where the economy is going to be within the next year, and after getting a few linked in messages to interview for full time positions, I’m starting to second guess myself. Say I want to take a break from advertising for a bit... is it impossible to leave agency land and then go back a few years later?

Not many people seem to care about those agency of the year titles anymore. Especially in the past 2 to 3 years. Even to the winners. Right?

I've seen quite a few people make jokes about being "aged out" of advertising. Could someone please explain what that looks like and when that typically happens? Forgive the dumb question, I'm a newbie to the industry so I'm a bit confused. Wouldn't agencies want people with more experience?
