What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? No other mid-levels I’ve worked with act this way and this individual I’m working with is driving me insane and I’ve spent countless hours attaching emails and saying “as explained in the attached email…”

Moved from agency after 6yrs, into a startup (€8m Series A, high growth); first marketing hire. My manager is ex VC, seems to like managing by fear, let’s fire X, let’s cut the agency etc. sets tight deadlines & adds urgent items last minute. Mid-level when she's leading the call: please make sure you take notes. It's expected of the person not leading a call (note I always take notes)

Me(jr): asked to lead a call for a different deal as training. Mid-level doesn't take notes (also on call) and tells me it's the job if the junior to take notes.

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help.
