I'm 36 and this election has resurfaced a new resentment against my high school. It was such an unaccepting environment I deeply buried any fleeting thought that I might be gay. I never really gave it much thought, but honestly if there had been drag queens in school or really ANYTHING to indicate it was ok to not be heterosexual I wouldn't have had to secretly explore Craigslist in my 20s to figure out my sexuality. I feel bad that there is now an agenda to actively prevent acceptance in school

Hi all, I’m considering a move to Chicago but am trying to understand costs of childcare. How much should I expect to spend for two kids (3 and 1 yr) in a daycare center?

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.

I know I will get hated by saying this. Do you think gay pride events are portraying a bad image about our community to public? (Drugs, sexual, inappropriate clothes, and sometimes like strip clubs- some parts). I know it is right to present us but I just feel it is not the right way to show who we are. I wish the pride where everybody can connect in a more friendly way (outdoor game- team work, dance, drink something not too sexual.) there are some good parts of pride tho. Any opinions?

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. I am in a long distance relationship with someone who is currently in B school. He spends pretty much all his breaks and holidays traveling with his classmates. Most of the time I am fine. But for some important holidays and my birthday, I told him we should spend time together. He just said it’s more important for him to bond with his classmates and ignore my ask. It’s really disappointing and I don’t know what else to tell him. Is that a reasonable ask or am I being dramatic?
