I'm a director for a logistics company and I'm heartbroken because on Monday I'll have to lay off my entire staff and declare bankruptcy. Things have been hard since 2020, clients dropping left and right and costs are rising. We don't have money at all to provide for our employees, let alone to cover some of our debt. I never would've expected to be in this situation but life is unpredictable.

This is terrible news, the same thing happened to me at the end of 2000, but at that time I would have paid millions for the advice that I would have given myself. You have already learned to have a business, take it, build it, and love it, you can do another one, it is not the end of the world, the difference is that now the path is shorter because you have already learned much more and knowledge is non-transferable. Cheer up.

I'm sorry to hear that you're in such a difficult situation. Laying off your staff and declaring bankruptcy must be a very hard thing to do. It sounds like things have been tough for a while now, and understandably, you've had to make some difficult decisions. I hope you can find a way to get through this tough time.

For those who have obtained the CFF certification:
I was asked to put together a working plan to obtain my CFF credential. I’m aware of the 2 certificate program (Core and Specialized) through the AICPA that will lead to the CFF. Does anyone have experience in how long it would take to complete the certificates and if there are other necessary or helpful study materials that would be useful? For background, I’m 6 months into working at this firm and have touched a variety of cases.

Hi everyone, I work at an early stage start up that just closed our round A. I just hired a director below me, however when it was time to come up with an offer I was removed from the conversation. The CO-founders said they’d handle the actual offer amount/equity. I joined early so salary is low but I have decent equity. Not sure if they didn’t want me seeing the offer or if this is normal for early start ups.

Case load= malpractice? Small plaintiff’s firm of 25 attorneys. I was a 2 year associate hired and given 50 active files in pre litigation status. 9 mos later a partner quit and I inherited 45 more. I got up to 105 files. Now I hover at 85 active files in varying stages of pre lit. I asked managing partner for help and was told to settle more claims to lessen my load. Is this what people consider negative work culture?

Hi all,
Yesterday my people lead told that there is no variable pay for me as my previous people lead put negative remarks on portal. Here in the screenshot as you can see yearly bonus on November is zero. But there is a monthly bonus amount. What is that monthly bonus and when shall I get it?
