I’m a front end developer, and I was just laid off from JPM. I was contemplating doing a career pivot and was thinking about PM. Any advice for me? I’m not 100% if it’s for me, but I wanted to try something new. Any courses/certifications that would help me? A bit too late to transition to a role within my firm currently. I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct. Role is 50/50 hybrid, pays well vs what I make, and most importantly would be a foot in the door to PM. Is this a good place to be for PM? What else do I need to find out to know for sure?

As product managers, what questions would you ask when interviewing a product designer?

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? Is it ok to reject the offer if they make one, on the grounds of the role not being a good fit for me.
