You just have to keep trying and to find someone willing to give you that chance. I have been a cma for 11 years now and it took 9 months for me to find my 1st job because they all want experience, even if you are not fond of that area of health care stick with it for at least 3 months then the doors will open more for you. Don't give up! If you did any health fairs in school put that in your resume or mention it, it will show you have worked with the public with your skills. Or follow up on the interviews so you can get a better understanding why they went another way. It never hurts to reach out.
hello. Yes, they are looking for experience. However, it is also very important to find an internal reference. That's how I got my first opportunity after graduating 13 years ago. That's how I see medical assistants finding jobs at my workplace. Reach out to people from your school who have found jobs and ask them for a reference. Keep trying because if you don't find a job within a year, it will become very hard to get one. Prepare for the interviews, and make sure to appear excited and confident. You can do it.
