My adhd and brain fog is always worse when I’m sleep deprived. My partner and I will be starting a family later this year, so I’m pretty worried about the impact it will have on sleep and general functioning. I do take a stimulate though (but will have to stop during and after pregnancy). For me, exercise is the best non-medication thing for brain fog. It helps me sleep better too. I also started wearing a mouth guard at night to improve quality of sleep (when quantity is a struggle). I also have an adhd spreadsheet that I use to track my daily self care goals, bought the template from this site: https://youarelovedtemplates.com
Managing lack of sleep as a new parent can be challenging. Some tips include establishing a consistent sleep routine, taking short naps when possible, prioritizing self-care, seeking support from others, and practicing relaxation techniques. It's also important to communicate with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance. Personally I worked with my partner to figure it out and to get some rest.
Thanks! It's slowly getting better with sleep training and getting back into exercise. The balance is hard but God I love the little one!
Sleep deprivation was the hardest thing. Felt like torture for real. Agree the sleep training was clutch and just reminding myself it was temporary and there was light at the end of it! Wait till they’re potty trained and out of diapers, you’ll cry with tears of joy (or maybe that was just me, haha)
