My wife used to work for state street, and I remember she could purchase time off. Does the new comp package still look as good if you factor in 5 more days of vacation? If it does ask if you can just purchase vacation days
If I could purchase unlimited vacation days, I'd purchase myself down to part-time! 😅 Half-joking aside, that's not a bad idea to ask. Thanks for the idea.
First, it sounds like you are still getting 33 total days... a lot of jobs lump sick days, personal days, and vacation days as "PTO." So, it sounds like this is comparable to you old job.
Second, just ask. Tell them you would like more vacation days and see if they are willing to negotiate, especially if you aren't asking for a higher salary.
While it may seem like the same, it’s really not. For example, you’re not going to be able to stack sick days together with vacation days. But yea, everything is negotiable.

Seriously is that even a thing you are worried when you are getting better pay? Smaller companies usually has less PTO… just be happy you are getting better pay.

Yes, negotiate them! They already know they want you so if that’s important to you I don’t think they will disqualify you for asking for a couple more days or even letting you use sick say after having used your vacation days if you want to. That’s what my current company does
