Go to HR and file your ADHD as a disability and that will protect you.
I was gonna say the same. Shouldn't OP be protected, I'd let HR know asap so they can't claim ignorance.
Hi!
I am dyslexic and adhd (i have always been the kid that isn’t able to focus/do anything properly).
In the end I managed to really get my shit together, yet it required “calming my thoughts” in a way.
It really comes down to you figuring out how you could do the job successfully, as in what it is that would make your workflow better, and thereby more efficient.
Now for me it comes down to breaking things down with writing. Sounds funny, but I write all the time. I never read what I wrote, since my dysgraphia is quite bad, but I sort of talk to myself and keep a “thoughtflow”. This really helps me solve certain ambiguities, or define things that are making me nervous, and see what the potential ways of solving it would be - if there are any.
In many ways you really need to figure out how you can focus as such.
I worked with an incredible producer who walks 10hr per day while he is producing. Like the man cannot sit down. He touches people all the time, calls everyone instead of writes emails, but really gets everything done always. He has barely finished high school, how hyperactive he was as a kid.
In other words adhd is no issue for a job like producing :).
I have never taken ritolin, and nor has my ex-colleague. Taking it is just a shortcut to what the real issue might be
Just to add to this - the hand writing really enables me to focus my thoughts so to not wonder around :).
