As a former PwC Director who did not grow up with the firm, I would advise you to be very cautious. No network means struggling on a the most aggressive environment. All Directors are on up or out path to Partner. As a new direct hire director your runway will be longer and very political. You will need a large network to make partner. If it is only about the money, don’t do it.
Yup. Confirm
Yes, but you’ll lose the network you’ve built at ACN.
L5? that’s assoc director. i have not seen an L5 only for 1 yr and got promoted to MD. PwC director is SM/AD for ACN. I assume you are CD&O as there is no L5 for C&M
Not in pay - directors make much more cash than a sm at Accenture - way more
C&M does have L5 on the principal track
PwC is an up or out (outside of S&), but if you are not content being a director for life your path to partner definitely can be prolonged as an outside hire. The exception to that would be a unique skillset in an offering they are trying to grow or key client relationships, meaning they are bringing you in to fasttrack you to partner for that offering or client.
SM1, were you approached by a third party recruiter?
Yes . Same thing ..which group at pwc ?
A1, I am C&M. I was told that L5 was a possibility. I've been at ACN for 4.5 years and I still dont know how they work!
OP, C&M has no L5 unless they tell you a promotion to L5 <associate director> and you move to CDO. I know some people was treated that way which they were OK rather than losing all the network they built (if they left the company). Some MDs were in fact asked to move laterally from CM to CDO, otherwise they were going to be redundated
CDO grows faster and they need more leaders that’s why they are moving leaders there
PwC will likely pay more. Go for it
Good feedback. FB for the win!
I got approached for the same thing. Debating whether it’s worth it to jump for more money but a longer path to partner.
Yes - and subsequently by a PwC partner, a former colleague who made the jump, and a PwC recruiter.
Go for it OP...you’ll be in a more Sales focused role and managers at PwC will be expected to manage delivery. Their comp is also very high. Probably double what ACCN pays an SM. Recommending you pursue! But do beware...choose your RP carefully because it can be very cut throat and political. PwC is also vey regional. You’ll end up at the office a lot and expected to show face frequently. Good luck!
OP, what are they offering you salarywise. Curious to know if they’re consistent.
