Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.
Anyone from GDS FAAS TEAM ???

Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Go to a more sophisticated shop (consulting, product, industry or otherwise). Things like git, testing, code review, etc aren't valued in consulting.
I think it stems from poor scoping and not owning the solution long term. Additionally, having non-technical managers means that they don't understand the importance of these activities.
I forced my team to do this stuff when I was at big4 but it was a hassle. Teams aren't used to doing it. I think you do your team a disservice if you don't force them to because they aren't very useful outside consulting =]

That is the only one that address the root cause
Talk to others on your account and see if there's interest in advancing the tools in use. Then you can use time on the job getting more familiar with them.
There's also support at D for training. Take time off to enroll in training and bill it to CED, as long as you get it cleared by mgmt. Ideally it's aligned to your current account, just pick say the cloud provider closest to your account. Azure has a lot of momentum in gov work.
So is there git training at D?
If you are a software engineer, D is wrong place .. leave to all those tech firms hiring for your talent and you can always move in at a higher level to big4 or move onto top 10 mba .. don’t waste your time here, with power pointers …
