You told them that and they are still putting you up for partner? Count your f blessings…

Not entirely sure what the issue is but that seems very normal?
You could leave now or when they pass you over.

You’re not really in a position to make demands about the work you’ll do. It sounds like they can’t accommodate your exact request, SOMEONE has to do that work, but they are at least making an effort by giving you credit that can help you advance. It sounds like they have tried to compromise, so if that’s not good enough and you’re really that unhappy, you probably should leave.
The needs of the business always come first.
For context - I’m on 8 lawsuits for this client. There are other 4 associates in my office and who are getting the work they want to do and not assigned to this client because “they can’t trust their work product.” I feel like I’m being punished for doing good work. Like is there a way to get out of this or do I just leave the firm?

Lolol you’re getting partnership credit, meaning what?
Was trying to shorthand but you need a certain number of hours from clients as either Primary attorney for the client or secondary attorney to qualify for partnership. It’s a big client so they decided to split up the secondary attorney into regions and give me a region so that the cases in that region count towards the hours needed to qualify for secondary attorney for that client.

I'd try to lateral since you've expressed your concerns and things haven't improved. It seems like you're really valuable to this client (and thus to the firm as well), so your firm may try to keep you by counter-offering/offering a retention bonus, but it's not likely things will actually change since you've already asked to be taken off and are instead doing even more for the client.
Seems like you should have been honest about the issue. It sounds like they solved the issue you described.
You asked to be taken off, and instead, they kept you on and gave you more work? Sounds like it is time to lateral.
