I’m convinced that longevity in this field is only humanely viable if I completely divorce any feelings from this job. I get so irritated but I also see that there’s really no other meaningful option to make a ton of money while sitting at home on a computer. Just need to figure out how to tune out all the noise and work while collecting. Any advice on how to practically achieve this goal?

Realize that you are pushing paper around and it’s not that serious as anything you do can be fixed with an exchange of money

All good advice here. If you have a rich life outside of work (at least as much as time permits) it helps put into context how pointless this job is. We are exchanging our time for money. That’s it. Do good work because it feels good to do good work, but at the end of the day a mistake usually isn’t make or break.

Need Suggestion.

I am the only developer in my team and my manager has assigned me a project in which I need to create a tool from scratch although that is currently running in production build by third party and we don't have access to that code.

I am on notice period and I am 100% sure that project won't be completed before my LWD.

What should I do, I asked him to put some extra team members but he didn't agree, seems like he will add extra team members 2-3 weeks before my LWD.

Has anyone seen Omega’s new Seamaster? Thoughts? I mean the only thing that’s stopped me from going 20,000 ft underwater is the right watch…unfortunately at 45.5mm in diameter and 56mm lug to lug, it’s too big for my small wrists. Oh well, guess I won’t be going underwater. Just kidding haha - I think it’s cool and I do like that they ditched the HEV

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.
