Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

What sort of industry do you have in mind? “Account management” is a pretty widely used term to describe a role where you are responsible for client relationships.
For example I’m in account management for a creative ad agency, which is what a lot of the folks in this bowl do. But media companies often call their sales people Account Managers too. As might any company that is employed by or sells to clients.
I’m interested in any industry , I feel as if I do it alot in my day to day , except it’s called Carrier management in my company. I honestly don’t want to be in sales anymore.
What’s your current level of experience (years)?
There absolutely will be transferable skills. Client relationship management and communication (internal and external) first and foremost.
But I think you should research specific kinds of companies you’d be most interested in. Creative advertising, PR, media planning/buying, digital production are all different niches and most agencies specialize.
The first thing I’d wonder about a candidate coming from a different industry is what makes them interested in ours, specifically. You certainly don’t have to have a degree in advertising but an appreciation and a point of view on creative work is table stakes for us. And if you can exhibit that, then you can probably also explain how your skills would transfer to managing clients in this business.
I used to work as an account manager/recruiter and was able to transition to an agency, so it is possible.
