I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.
I have a form to fill out if you are interested! I will email everyone the list probably at the end of the week if not sooner!

Hi All! I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy.
I am hosting a free workshop for teachers that I thought might benefit you. The workshop is called From Unsettled to Prepared Classroom. I am giving you the tools you need to feel organized and ready for this upcoming school year. There is so much that is still uncertain and it can be super daunting to start to plan for a year like this one.

That's the main reason I teach at a small rural high school. Teach what I want, how I want. There is no way I could possibly ever go back to a scripted, canned curriculum that completely sucks the fun and soul out of good teaching. Let me create my own stuff and OWN the classroom. Don't give me a scripted, canned curriculum and expect me to get all excited about it. If I know my students, then sometimes I need to slow down, adjust, and adapt so they can learn. And yes, that might mean deviating from the pacing or set instruction. Pulling me out of my classroom for 5 days to debrief...wow. I haven't even taken 5 PERSONAL days in the last 5 years! What a waste.
Amen. I was fortunate to teach at a small suburban /rural high school and was able to craft my own "script" for my entire career. I was (and am) too eclectic in my mind, words, and actions to stick with a canned curriculum-- it'd be too damn boring for everyone involved. I have been this way since I started my career--at an interview straight out of college I was asked about utilizing a planned curriculum and said that I didn't think that was a good way to teach. I did not get that job, to my benefit!!
Ugh, this sounds awful for teachers and students, truly destroys learning experiences for them, and the joy ig teaching for us. Congrats on your retirement!!! You're almost there.
We have a new super this year and he brought in new curriculum. They have tried to to the same to us. Not only are we a rural district but title 1 as well. Kids are struggling and we are all overwhelmed. Campus moral is the lowest I have ever seen. I have been in the district 4 years and have worked hard to put something together that works. My kids are successful on the EOC’s. It’s very frustrating.
