I'm going to be a single mother of 2, very soon. And have started working with a financial advisor in the last couple years. My advisor recently proposed enrolling me in a WL Plus 100 while I'm already enrolled in a 90 Life.
Wanted to know if people usually do this? Enroll in 2 Whole Life plans? What are some of the benefits of doing this? Thank you

Look at getting a new advisor (are they a fiduciary?). Whole life plans are not a good idea.

Have you looked at term insurance? Why would you need whole life?

Got it, there can be benefits to having another whole life but really it depends on many different factors including your cash flow and family needs. Full disclosure I believe most people's needs are met with term policies but from time to time it makes sense to do permanent coverage

Agreed @ Edward Jones 1. It all depends on the persons situation. I personally don’t like something that expires. There are more options than just those. If you want some options, let me know and I can show you. No obligations.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

Anyone from Embark able to tell me about some benefits you have. Like how long is Paternity leave and do you have to be with the firm for a year to use it? Also what health insurance do you have? Also how often are you traveling / in office? Thanks!

My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int, tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?
