Love how BS credit score is. I have an idea for an investment-type thing but am trying to figure out what price point would be attractive to your “everyday” affluent but not 1%er family (I’m talking the 3%ers like myself). If you fit that demographic and were offered a solid investment opportunity with a guaranteed annual yield of 8% and an appreciation of the underlying asset of at 3%, how much would you be willing to invest in it without stressing too much? 10k? 25k? I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Curious for everyone’s thoughts on real-estate right now.. my spouse and I are in Denver and trying to buy our first home. To get a halfway decent 3BR home, we have to spend upwards of 500k and still put a little work/investment in to update the home.. I can’t help but feel we should be waiting for 6 more months and seeing if the price drops.. I want to take advantage of the low rates right now, but can’t believe a half million still requires further investment to update the home.

If I were to rollover a pension lump sum into one of those 401ks, is counted towards the $19k limit? Or is rollover classified differently and I could still continue to contribute to my current 401k?
