Gotta do Little Italy and the USS Midway (get tickets online in advance, get there when they open, and head straight to the deck for the bridge tour before a line forms.
Best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to is El Agave in old town. Also highly recommend seeing Sunset Cliffs beach. Have fun on your trip, I lived in San Diego for a year and loved it!
That’s fair, although to me it was worth it. Had to move because of my partners job but want to make it back some day!
Come to my home and hangout with me in the backyard. We can bbq and drink some good wine.
La Jolla ocean kayaking is fantastic
Ocean beach lighthouse ice cream
Solano beach pizza port

Lucky you . It is one of the most amazing cities in North America . Enjoy every second of being there. Don’t miss local zoo
You’ll be able to find good food and bars in the gas lamp district. They are have a little Italy neighborhood that is low key good. Balboa park has a bunch of neat things to go see, and there’s a Naval aircraft carrier (USS Midway) to tour down by the marina if you are into that
Have to see Balboa!
Izakaya Masa was a nice place that I ate at. :)
Herb & Wood for dinner. Youngblood for speakeasy experience (reservation required). Go to the Zoo. Probably one of the only places you can see a lion, elephant and polar bear in the same place, and in the downtown district. Check out Coronado.
Haha, the drink is still on the menu at Herb. They just got a new dinner menu for fall. Great spot.
Lucha libre, get the surf n turf burrito
The creamy cilantro salsa 🤤
Sunset at Torrey Pines Gliderport is amazing!
Make sure to visit La Jolla and walk around the cove. You should check out sdfoodies on instagram to get some food ideas.

Love San Diego. Stayed in Little Italy the first time. Great restaurants all throughout. We chose a place with outdoor heated lamps in the courtyard. Food was delicious.
Absolutely go to Tacos el Gordo. Tijuana tacos without having to cross the border. And the fries 🤤 Every trip I’ve made to SD, I drive to the Palm Ave location to purchase the greatness. I would bring an order home for the spouse for the weekend. I’d be in trouble if I didn’t!
Our first time there we took the trolley tour and that gave us a good overview of so many areas including out to Coronado Island. We even had time to stop and shop in Old Town. It was worth it. Highly recommend. It helped us decide where to visit the rest of the trip and for me on subsequent trips.
Get out to La Jolla and make sure to watch the sun set at Sunset Cliffs.
Water tour on the bay if you have time. We did Spirit of San Diego (Groupon special).
Something different - take a walk across the Spruce St suspension bridge.
I'm also going to SD next week for a bachelor party so thank you all for these suggestions!
Food: Taco Stand. So worth the line.
Definitely do a hike at Torrey Pines. Head to Coronado and walk/bike around. As other have said, La Jolla is a must.
I think Puesto has better tacos. Also Ed Fernandez Restaurant Birrieria is very famous with locals. I think this one was rated as the best taco spot in the country by Yelp.
Royal mandarin in national city has the best salt and pepper chicken but it’s in the ghetto
Surfing at sunset in La Jolla. Pizza Port Brewing and Craft & Commerce are fun. I miss Ballast Point and Stone but there are so many great breweries in sd
Super Sergio’s
Tacos el gordo hands down the best tacos I’ve had!
