It has been 2+ weeks since I completed the Interview & Psychometric Assessment rounds with Macquarie Group , but yet to hear anything from them. I also followed up with HR but with no response. For the record, the interview went well. Any idea if they usually take this amount of time to get back? If I got rejected, why not communicate directly?

I'd schedule a conversation with the recruiter and talk salary. Usually the recruiter should have asked about current or expected comp in the initial conversation
Wait for them to give you a number and details of other benefits then develop a few proposals to reflect your desired base salary, annual leave, signing bonus etc. Or different combinations of those factors that you’d like. Eg: if they won’t move on base salary, ask for more signing bonus or additional annual leave days.

If you know the numbers best practice is to anchor in the middle to top of range. If you haven’t figured the range out from FB, and friends then you aren’t doing enough research. What level are you interviewing for?
