Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

$40k/year is not in a 35% tax bracket

Quit immediately and report them

Child support payments will follow you wherever you go, as will health insurance costs of some kind.
It's hard to tell without seeing the specific breakdown of your paycheck, but my guess is that you are blaming a hefty child support obligation on your employer, and the health insurance may otherwise be reasonable.
Getting promised a review and raise multiple times is s bigger tell that this may not be the kind of company to stay with long-term. Put the experience in your resume and see what else is out there. It's not a given that you'll have to make less money either.
I was in the same situation. Never given any reviews for an entire year. Was given fancy titles instead. Last one being Operations Manager. So I would say move on it doesn't take no more than 2 weeks for a raise to be seen on your paycheck. Looks like they're keeping the money for a bonus at the end of the year for themselves. Been in management for quite some time and what's going on these days is absolutely criminal. 3 or more equals Class Action, just saying.
Im currently unemployed and hoping to make at least 13 for hourly pay heck 13 an hour would be better then making unemployment
I understand your struggle. Minimun wage is 15 an hour in Massachusetts,
