Follow up question here and IDGAF if I'm hijacking the thread :) But what is the best way of getting qualified cheeks in the seat? I have 50 clients. They're an ok source for referrals but not a great one. What have you guys discovered as the best way to get folks to come to these informational seminars?
Make it useful, call to invite, add referrals.
Yes, they will cover the cost if you're doing business with them.Seminar Crowds can get you a mailing list, and do a nice job with the mailing campaign. There are others.
Serve a meal.
Best way to get people in seats: hold seminar at nice restaurant and advertise the free dinner on mailer
Best way to get people in for meeting: actually say something useful but more than anything be entertaining and engage crowd
Im 29 and have been doing seminars for over two years now and I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me after and say we’ve been to 4 or 5 of these of other advisors and you were so much more engaging and entertaining than anyone else we’ve seen. It definitely helps to have some fun with them and also try to speak in layman’s terms as much as possible.
Polish up and don't use IDGAF acronyms and more people may take what you have to say with more value
NY Life, yes they will often help you. If you have a relationship with a company that you'd like to see flourish, I'd call and tell them what you're thinking about hosting, and then ask if they would be willing to help you by presenting. Some have their own prospecting lists they are happy to share.
