I dont think anywhere else exists in the US with LA's climate, maybe some parts of Colorado are kinda the same? My friend likes Colorado Springs
Many places meeting your requirements will be "very redhat," that is one of the biggest tradeoffs if you're looking for LCOL. On the plus side, if you don't like red hats think of how much your vote will count!
Unfortunately due to the huge influx of LAers/NYCers moving to mid-sized cities around the US it is harder and harder to find a three bedroom under $500k in many, many places. Your mileage may vary of course! Just remember that while it isn't our fault, ours moves contribute to others in our new towns being pushed out for the same reasons we had to leave LA.
Can’t really beat LA weather… but I would check out Salt Lake City. Nature is amazing, there’s an international airport, and if you stay downtown there’s enough culture to get by (restaurants/parks/NBA/concerts/art collectives).
But how can you get crunk if liquor is banned. Or something like that. Five wifes? Sure. Interracial? Easy there, fella. Moscow Mule? Ohhh no, that’s where we draw the line.
New Mexico flies under the radar
I mean it's not California but there is beautiful nature. It also has some artist enclaves, a bit bohemian flavor. Like what Joshua Tree was before bougie normies took it over. Meow Wolf started in New Mexico.
Or you could hang with CD1 and buy divorcees long island iced teas at TGI Fridays!
Weather, Diversity, Culture. Choose 2.
I would say only LA has the 3 down. Though I live in OC and visit LA. Maybe that's something worth considering.
SC1 must not get out much. (As someone who also lives in LA but has also lived in “lots of other places”) if you live in a city this big and diverse your only going to find it as interesting as the experiences you seek out smh
Colorado or Arizona but even Colorado has really blown up these days. Also everyone is moving to Austin but it’s hot as fuck in Austin half the year (I’m a native) your never going to fully get the same weather for less cost of living unless you move just further down SC.
My coworker lives half the year in Texas and half the year in socal
