I had an interview with @cognizant all rounds done with HR AND Salary negotiation, after that I sent an email to them related to my offer status. However, they replied me as, we have kept you on hold etc.
And now @cognizant hr called me 3 times for job opening, and I have told them my offer is on hold. Now, they have scheduled interview. Is it for same or new. It's really confusing for me.
If they release old offer what we have discussed or they will interview me again

The split implies you’re earning commission/bonus - if you earn commission your salary gives two ways to earn:
1. Base salary (fixed)
2. Commission (variable)
60/40 split means 60% of your salary comes from your base and 40% comes from commission.. both components should equal your total salary amount
Ex- 140k salary (also sometimes called OTE, on target earnings) with a 60/40 split means your base is 84k (paid out biweekly no matter performance) and 56k is paid out based on your commission plan
That’s totally dependent on the company and the role. If it’s sales, you can expect monthly. For a role like this, it’s most likely quarterly or twice a year
It means that your base guaranteed salary is 60% of the total comp you agree on. So let’s say they offer you 150K, your base would be 90K and the other 60K would be based on performance etc.
So are you good with a 90k base? I would ask what the performance metrics are for the other 60K.
Probably salary versus commission
Sorry! I accidentally hit ‘funny’ and can’t undo it.
In most tech instances they would be using that in a commissioned type role. Meaning 60% of TC is base and then 40% is variable based on targets.
Yea, that makes sense… 60/40 salary/commissions. OTE = on-target earnings, which assumes that you hit quota
I assume you’re asking about the 60/40 split.
My guess is that is the remote vs office time expectations.
But I don’t know for sure.

I think it’s hiring fees. It sounds like fees. Can it be fees. Please.
Are you in sales? That sounds like a commission split to me - base vs commission OR it could be the salary is 60% of the number and the bonus is 40% of the number.
Hmmmmm. I wanna know too
Customer experience is not a pure sales role, but can be considered as a support role for sales. Hence you got a bonus based on global sales performance ( it’s not individual but the scope can be geographic APAC, western Europe or a range of products )
Maybe base salary vs. RSU?
Could be total comp that’s broken down into 60% cash and 40% stock. You should ask them.

No not in sales - it’s a Customer Experience Director level role and it just doesn’t make sense as none of the job description mentions sales whatsoever
I know pure sales roles that were doing 75/25 split. 60/40 sounds like a bad deal to be based on MBOs or KBOs that may be less quantifiable. Negotiate IMO.
I would ask for clarification. There’s nothing wrong with that. All companies have different definitions of what a split is. In your example, for my last company that would have meant the salary is $140k with 40% commission potential on top of that. Really depends on the offer letter and exact language. But agree with others that if they are saying “OTE is $140k” than yes, that number would include both your salary and commission potential.” For your role, my guess is you have a team that roles up to you who have quotas so your commission essentially comes from them hitting their targets.
Since you say there is no mention of sales, this could also mean base/bonus. When it comes to people or project management, they could be stating that 60% of the offer will come as a guaranteed base salary and the remainder will come from bonuses based on your ability to complete projects on time, manage an efficient team, or keep a low budget on people management and productivity efficiency. I would negotiate higher as others said. 75/25 or 80/20, in that area if they are only going to offer this split.
Maybe, hours expected to work?
60% base 40% variable (bonus, commission or maybe stock)
