Amex people thoughts on this offer, as I have recently(4 months back) joined a startup with Base(33) and CTC(35.5) but not enjoying the work here. Amex brand tag and culture is good.
Hence, considering the offer, does this offer look good or is there any scope of improvement? Amex American Express

Recommend you file for H1B as a back up option and have it in case L1A is rejected. On L1 if ur married the dependent can work v/s long wait for H4 EAD so if that matters at all if ur married.
You have the option to stay on L1A.. cost of compliance for ur organization is lower on L compared to H so even for them having you on L is better than H visa
Not a legal advice , but if you go for L1A , you can file green card in EB1C category and get a green card in hand within one year.
If you go through H1B route , you won’t be a manager on paper as it’s a speciality occupation Visa , then your green card will be filed in EB2/EB2 category.
This is usually not a big deal, but if your country of birth is India/China then wait time to get green card in hand(for EB2/EB3 category) is 15 to 20 years. So choose wisely.

I am ROW, but I don’t qualify for EB1C because I don’t have managerial experience from abroad. Currently in the PERM process under EB2. My question was more from the perspective if my change of status to L1A gets denied for whatever reason, I will have H1B as contingency, but if I do get both then l’d prefer to stay on L1.
However , H1B has it’s own benefits , like you can change as many companies you want within USA(if prospective employers are ready to sponsor you)

Did you do change of status from within the US or at a consulate? It might be good to have H as a backup to be honest. COS is so scrutinised
right now
