I’m relocating to Seattle in July and am on the hunt for corporate social responsibility, pro bono management, and/or nonprofit development director positions. Does anyone have recommendations regarding positions or employers to consider? I’ve been applying to jobs via LinkedIn but it’s been a bit challenging since I’m not currently in Seattle.

I’m interviewing next week for a solutions engineer at a company I really like, which I mistakenly applied for as I saw they needed ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. How would you approach asking the recruiter if there are any SWE openings I could be considered for instead ?

Been in Seattle for ~1 year and something I’ve observed is the constant s*it-talking of the city from the locals. Is this because they haven’t experienced other places? While the current homelessness in the city needs to be handled, crime is still relatively low compared to other major cities. The complaints about gloominess also seems a bit dramatic. I’m from the NE and am so grateful to not be dealing with snowy winters and sweltering summers.
