I'm researching best practices on aligning Product <> Engineering teams in companies that have a mix of feature engineering teams as well as "backend core services teams" (Core services engineering teams own backend components that do not directly provide customer value but are leveraged by other vertical feature engineering teams to realize customer value)

If your company has core engineering teams, what Product support do these teams get? And how is that working out for the company?
