i used to do these for Dell…they are probably done with AI now. no creativity whatsoever is kind of the deal. they want product, logo and highly specific messaging with highly restricted character counts…it’s such trash.

If we start analyzing how much bad work is out there, we’d be on FB 24/7.
This bad ad in particular is unique because the brand used to have legendary campaigns.
i just read that as “AIPAC” and was like…sure.
The enshittification of things has fully started with google and the rest of providers new ai-backed display / banner ad platforms.
the “enshittification” is the word of the year 2024! that made me laugh so hard and it is so painfully true
It’s an insta ad…it’s not a creative opportunity. Agencies can’t make money selling this stuff, as clients want to spend about $0.01 on each iteration. It’s the kind of thing that was ripe for automation. They churn out a volume of them and can track what gets clicked and can swap in new offers or headlines.
Agencies lost the battle for this kind of work years ago when we started pricing them (banner ads and then evolving into posts) lower and lower and lower and then it become an actual hit to the bottom line to have accounts with a lot of this. The physical time of an employee touching them wasn’t covered by the fee.
Is there a middle ground where an actual creative semi-oversees them and tweaks? Sure, but who wants that job?
It’s like that old joke Apple packaging if Microsoft designed it.
Definitely automated and optimized without a human reviewing it.
2 CTA’s mean two times the click thru rates! Way to beat benchmark!
The neon-green-highlight-thing doesn’t feel like Apple at all. Feels like it should have a Lenovo or Dell logo.

I’m a big Apple fan but this line of iPhones is comical along with their ads that describe their “distinctions”
Apple would be better off going ghost for 5 years on new upgrades and building up the anticipation for the next best thing
Is the green supposed to mimic the ‘brat’ branding that was all over the place this summer? If so it’s too late and the wrong green but it brought that to mind for me.
