I'm considering a Master's in Computer Science or Information Tech. I think for me that or Administration would be my next phase of life possibly administration with a focus on professional development and curriculum/content development for a resource library.
Statistics is one of the highest paying careers and the fastest growing. They are projecting more jobs than qualified applicants
I cannot speak for other states, but a masters degree in Mississippi will get you an increase in pay no matter what your masters degree is in. In other words, it doesn’t matter if it’s an education, or another field of work that you may consider once you leave teaching.
Now, if someone in Mississippi were considering getting their masters degree for the increase in pay, you would be much better off getting your national board certification. There are stipends available to help reimburse you for the cost of getting your national board certification, along with a $6000 per year stipend added to your salary.
Wow! Florida doesn’t offer anything for national board certification anymore. And the masters stipend has to be in what you teach and it’s like 2k
I got my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Not sure about outside education but I'm sure it would help to be an instructional coach or even designing "professional development" for other companies. Considering my Doctorate in Teacher Leadership. Instructional coach.
