Push for it. The value you bring is that you already know the agency and some of the people. You can jump right in. That is totally worth $5K
What’s the worst they’re gonna say? No? Ask for the extra $5k
ALWAYS ask for what you want. If they pay you less, they will always know they are not paying you what you feel is fair. That’s way better than having them think they are spot on, or worse, overpaying you
Hell push for $10k more and see what happens. Only do this if you are actually gonna accept the offer though. Otherwise you could burn bridges
That's an extra 416 a month. Put it that way and tell them they can afford it.
If your previous agency hires you back, they WIN. They get a proven performer who can function in their culture, without paying fees or percentages to a headhunter for finding them the candidate. (Some recruiters get $15-20k per hire.) Plus they don't have to go through all the time and effort of interviews with randos. The company saves a LOT of money by rehiring you, and you should figure out how much that is, and request a sizable chunk of it. IMHO.
I’m saying should I push for it? Play hard to get
Ask. If they push back, tell them it’s just a question and it doesn’t hurt to ask. If they say no, negotiate something else in return. More PTO, whatever. 5k is nothing to worry about.
For not giving raises. The thing is I know for my position, they can pay me what I’m asking for. Should I be greedy and take the risk or just let them be the greedy ones?
Ask for the 5k.
It's not greed. It's business. They're looking to pay you as little as you'll accept. You're looking to get paid as much as they'll give you.
don't settle because of fear. if the 5 k is a deal breaker some place else will happily pay it.
You want to risk it for less than $200 extra on your paycheck? If you're a junior it's ok to ask for 5 more. If not, it's just small potatoes
Always get it all up front.. push for it. I did that once and then they’re we’re no raises for 3 years.
SC3 if it’s such small potatoes, I’m not seeing the risk.
