In my role, I’m often the person translating between business stakeholders and hardcore tech folks, explaining model outputs to marketing, then turning vague requests into SQL requirements. Some days it feels like a superpower; other days it feels like I’m not “technical enough” compared to pure engineers. For those in similar hybrid roles, do you lean into the translator identity or fight to be seen as more of a specialist?

1: EY - FDD, home city, very good $$ for FDD

2: PwC - post-merger integration, DDV team (essentially M&A Consulting) - bigger city, always been keen to move
