Exec orders, Trump, Bannon, immigrant ban, Dodd Frank to be repealed, market at record heights, fake news, healthcare sector to be transformed again. Here you go.
Economist has all their issues available for audio playback. Great to listen to in the car or at the gym
Ny times, dealbook, economist from past two weeks. I think that's sufficient.
^Economist is the best publication in existence, hands down. All educated people should read it for the most informed perspectives on general events (eg not subject specific opinions like foreign policy mag etc) in the world.
I highly recommend Foreign Affairs - Economist is good "reader's digest" material, but lacks the depth and breadth of opinion that FA brings to the table. Other favorites include the Atlantic and the Financial Times for daily reading.
^seconded except Atlantic. Increasingly clickbait and quality has been on decline.
Dodd Frank. If you are Finance definitely read up on that.
Thanks so much everyone! Another question since you all have been so helpful. Do you think I should try to stay away from politics? I'm conversational about all political topics, but was going to try to brush up on non-political news because I thought it would be unwise to try to do that "what's appropriate and doesn't show bias" dance in my interview
Sorry, FA is what I meant, not mag... Been a while
Fair enough, but still fairly solid. You could say much the same about the WSJ outside of specialist sections like Real Time Economics. (I highly suspect that there are trolls on most of the articles). Hard to find quality reading material now.
By the way, just be yourself. I talk about political topics all the time (in a neutral and polite manner) because I genuinely love it more than my work and do everything I can to get involved when I'm not doing some bullshit analysis for a Fortune 500 CXO I could hardly care less for. But politics isn't your thing, don't talk about it.
Well, the way I generally think about it is few people in this world actually know what they're talking about, and those that write for the economist and foreign affairs are generally among those that do. The everyday beat journalists writing for most any daily don't- neither do those at the Atlantic, etc. but they can be good writers...
