At least $10 base, probably at least $5 bonus. Could be much higher idk

MD is the new title for what was formerly an executive director (in the US). It’ is equivalent to Partner/Principal except non equity. Starting salaries in tech consulting services line are probably 300k - 325k. Maybe a little higher for experienced hires. More of you’re coming in as a more tenured MD Bonuses have generally been crap for the last few years although year they have announced a much better financial contribution to the bonus fund. My guess is probably 4-7% for most people although I admittedly do not one if MDs get different bonus ranges.

Correct... tech and business consulting services fall within the advisory service line. tax, audit, transaction services (TAS) and internal (CBS) are the other service lines with their own sub service lines and sub competencies within them. I think tax and TAS, have similar salary bands with TAS being slightly higher than Advisory . It’s a little quirky now because EY-Parthenon is now tied in with TAS.

MD at EY? Never heard of this title

funny

ED/MD isn’t a “step”, it’s an alternative non ownership equivalent to partner that is focused more on delivery and less on sales

Base range is very broad - depending on experience and how much market activity you have and can drive. MDs can be in the 300s to the 600s. I was a direct admit MD. Be sure to negotiate on the salary. As someone has noted - bonuses are minimal here so don’t count on it being more than icing on the cake. Good luck

Just heard back from EY that they will not proceed with an offer 😞 Receuiter said I did great in interviews but the market condition change/lack of pipeline was the concern. Recruiter wanted to keep the communication open for next year as they expect things to change by then, but all sounds a bit like a nicely wrapped rejection. Disappointed but I guess I should focus on the next interviews with Deloitte and KPMG!

Have an offer on the table at a startup that’s $35K more than current big 4 salary for a Senior Manager role. Benefits package is very comparable (401k match, healthcare costs, fringe stipends for WFH). Startup has been around for 5+ years and has secured a solid, 9 figures of investor dollars. Is it worth the move and having to leave my extremely secure “network” and role at a Big 4?

Down because I got some upsetting (work-related) news yesterday. I was up for promotion and did not get it, basically for my actual job that I have been acting in for over a year. I had perfect reviews and perfect on the technical portion of the interview. Apparently they dinged me on something subjective relating to situational competencies. Colleagues—who I trained and mentored—did receive promotion and we will all be working at the same job, just them at higher level and pay. Contd.

I studied SCM in college but I’ve been working through tech implementations on the ptp side for about 4 years now - it’s been all indirect client work though and no supply chain. How tough is it to pivot to more process and supply chain based strategy projects - do I need to get my mba. At a smaller firm now and feel like I’d have to jump to an Accenture to actually have the ability to do that kind of work (logistics and trade optimization, planning, manufacturing)
