You’ll never turn in anything that doesn’t receive comments. Get used to it
Isn't that their job?
Have you tried not giving him work with faults?
I’ve been at this a long time. Don’t think I’ve ever done anything perfectly. That’s why I work with a bunch of smart folks; to give me feedback and make me better
^ make it red. That’s an easy one
I can't tell you how many times I've heard "why isn't this client ready..." for something very minor like a typo, and not get any feedback whatsoever on the actual substance of the document or slide.
Works both ways. Usually it’s my analysts that are correcting my work 😅
I think K1 is onto something
BCG1 - When I don’t do it perfectly the first time - I am told “these shouldn’t have to be reviewed,” so I’m like...so what do I do now
OP have you tried to get it peer reviewed first?
They mat be doing their job or they could be a asshole micro manager that should never be in charge of managing people. Hopefully its not the latter, as Liam Nelson would say, good luck!
Every damn time
Is it for actual serious issues (content completely wrong) or just the manager’s personal style (he likes red instead of blue numbering)? The way to approach each of those is different
You are surprised at this?
How do you handle the “red vs blue” scenario?
Your manager also knows the client’s triggers and may be making sure your deliverables don’t hit them. My client has a very specific font size requirement for headings and subheadings and when my team doesn’t do it, i get pings from him reminding me to remind my team. I know sometimes it feels like dumb feedback but the client is the one paying.
Accenture1- I feel the same way. I feel every time I turn something in, the manager marks up many things and was like “ this shouldn’t be reviewed
OP - Yep Exactly
Accenture 1, i am just concerned my manager thinks I suck
A1 - I actually know how you feel, and I don’t have enough project experience to know if I do or not.
