Be transparent in your communication that you're in town for a week (or what's length of time you are) and that you'd like to meet in person while you're in town. I've moved across the country several times and easily have set up at least 3 interviews or more in about 4 days. It's exhausting but worth getting it done in one shot. Most shops will make it work around your schedule if they truly have a need and you're resume is good enough for them not to miss on an in person meeting.
Totally agree. I'm assuming the time thing isn't a factor. You can get smelly quickly in June though, and the thought of spending $100 on cabs/Uber sucks for job seekers.
Use Via to get around town. Download the app. $5 anywhere in Manhattan and you won't have subway stank on you when you get to the next appointment.
@CD i love Via but i'd never use it if i was in a time crunch or needed to be somewhere at a certain time. too much room for other pick up delays and since they have to use whatever route Via tells them they can't always take the fastest one.
BTW, Via slows you down a little bit not a lot. Subway is fastest usually, but you want to look fresh in an interview. Via gets you anywhere in Manhattan within an hour. So, don't stress it. And you'll save boatloads. Good luck!
