Hey folks
I got a call from TCS to interview for a new unit formed within org with the name of Business Transformation Group as per new org restructuring. Anyone from TCS who can help to understand more about this?
Does it cater to only niche technologies or how does this actually function?

If you're not lying you're stupid (outside of the network). Add whatever is believable but avoid giving your current pay if at all possible. Example ask formula: Current pay, + % cost of living increase (or decrease depending on city), + or - market value, +15% change job risk (if same role), + or - lifestyle change = asking.
Always. And I agree with most folks here — I usually bump up my salary by 10-15k, assuming I'll be cornered into negotiating. But the one thing I'll add is this: Be wary of how well you negotiate. I made a lateral move and landed in the higher 💸 end of my title. But because of that, I couldn't negotiate during review time; I got told that even a little more would place me in the same salary bracket as the title above mine (and I wasn't due for a promotion that year).
By all means, reap the rewards of your work! But, ya know, just be aware of stuff like that too.
i told the recruiter i made $10k more than i actually do, and she offered me $10k more than that
FYI if you're interviewing at an agency within the same holding company you are currently in, they can check your actual salary.
Recruiters always assume you lied about $10k, you gotta lie about $15k.
I don't lie about anything. I tell the selective truth.
I provide alternative salaries.
5k. Every time.
Just say five hundred thousand dollars
No. But I tell them what I'm looking for to move. If they match it great, if they can't, then that's that.
Always. At least $5k-$10k more than you actually do.
👆🏻🤣 #alternativesalaries
I heard this the other day! Never occurred to me but I plan on doing it when I look for a new gig.
Nope. Don't mention what I make, tell them what I need to make.
A few grand
Why lie about your salary?
yes 5k at least
Recent CA law says that they can't ask or check on what you make, but they can ask a range. It pays to learn how to negotiate and get them to tell you the range of their budget for the position.
I never lie on interviews
@SVP1, holding company agencies can/still will check if you're making an intra-agency move though, right?
